Crafting an Entertaining Patient Experience

with Kaizen Dental Technology

When it comes to elevating the patient experience, the team at Kaizen Dental Technology Group has explored various options for ceiling-mounted patient entertainment systems in the offices we design and build. Our goal is to seamlessly blend modern technology with practicality, making it effortless for both patients and staff.

Configuration 1: Ceiling TV - A Gateway to Entertainment

In this setup, we bring together the following components:

  • Low Latency Bluetooth Audio Transmitter: Precision is key, and that's why we employ a low latency Bluetooth audio transmitter discreetly positioned behind the ceiling-mounted TV. This transmitter sources its power from the TV's USB port while delivering crystal-clear audio through the optical audio output.

  • Noise-Canceling Headphones: Simplicity meets functionality with our choice of noise-canceling headphones. No need to splurge on high-end brands; we prioritize affordability and easy replacement in case of mishaps.

  • Headphone Disposable Covers: For hygiene and ease, we offer disposable headphone covers at an economical cost of approximately $0.25 per pair. Our setup is as swift as it gets, taking less than half a minute to pair. Our assistants seldom need to touch more than the power button once it's properly configured.

  • Ceiling TV: Our recommendation? The 32" TCL Roku TVs. They come equipped with integrated Roku Smart features and boast an ultra-slim bezel. At just $129, it's a winning choice for our patient entertainment system.

Configuration 2: The Mirrored Experience at 6'Oclock

Here, we offer patients an immersive experience through the following setup:

  • Media Player: Opt for the Roku Stick or Roku Ultra as a centralized player to control two TVs with a single source of audio and video.

  • HDMI Duplication Package: As seen in our reference diagram, the green line represents a 35ft HDMI cable, and the red line is a 25ft HDMI cable. We recommend installing these cables during your low voltage/cat6/sound cabling. The Roku/Media Player and HDMI 2-1 Duplicator take residence behind the 6'Oclock TV. This setup empowers patients to begin their entertainment journey on the 6'Oclock screen and effortlessly transition to the ceiling TV when the treatment begins.

Common Considerations

  • Reconnection Expectations: Plan for an annual re-pairing to ensure continued seamless operation.

  • Charging Essentials: Since the headphones rely on battery power, be sure to include a daily checklist in your employee manual to manage their charging needs.

Pro Tip

Configure the ceiling-mounted TV to display subtitles, irrespective of whether patients opt for headphones. This thoughtful addition caters to those who prefer an auditory escape and adds a layer of engagement.
